- What should we know to make Milo feel true to life?
- A small brown dachshund with a brave bark, a wiggly walk, and a habit of burrowing under every blanket. He carries one worn yellow sock around like treasure, tilts his head at the phrase “Is that for you?”, and refuses to step in puddles.
- Is there a real moment, place, or tiny detail you’d love them to recognize?
- My favorite memory is a rainy Sunday when Milo disappeared into a pile of warm laundry. After we searched the whole apartment, his nose popped out from beneath a towel, still holding his yellow sock. I laughed so hard that he started wagging his entire body.
- Is there a place or kind of world that belongs in their story?
- A cozy apartment beside a leafy neighborhood park, with a window seat where Milo watches birds, a blue front door, and a deep basket of blankets. The setting can gently expand into a whimsical hidden world inspired by familiar household objects and garden paths.
- How should the reader feel at the end?
- Warm, playful, and comforting, with Milo feeling proud and safely back in his favorite blanket nest. I would like the ending to leave a child smiling and ready to cuddle their own pet.
- Is there anything we must get right—or leave out?
- Please keep everything gentle and suitable for young children. No injury, cruelty, abandonment, frightening villains, prolonged separation, or real danger. Any suspense should be mild and quickly reassuring, and Milo should always be treated with kindness.
- Additional details
- Milo is curious but cautious: he barks boldly from a safe distance, then checks whether I am nearby. He loves crunchy treats, sunny floor patches, and being wrapped up like a “blanket burrito.” His short legs and serious expression are part of the humor, but he should never be mocked.
